July 2026 Update

We celebrated Canada Day with a CANADIAN CHAMPION jersey! IGNITE's own Albert Brouillette earned the top step of the podium at the Canadian National Road Cycling Championships in the Junior Men's Road Race this past weekend in St. Georges de Beauce, QC. It was a fierce battle over a very challenging course, and Albert persevered to pull off the win. Stay tuned to see him in his new national champion jersey from Giordana for future road races this season.

The team had several notable performances at Nationals, including 4 top-10 finishes in the Individual Time Trial and 2 top-10 finishes in the Criterium. Jake McLean and Heron Land-Gillis were consistent performers across all three races.

IGNITE riders were also busy in June at the Preston Street Crit in Ottawa and the GP Charlevoix in Quebec at the end of May. At Charlevoix, IGNITE consistently placed on the podium in all 4 events, and in the overall GC. Notable results include Jake McLean (gold in Time Trial), Albert Brouilette (silver in Crit, bronze in the Road Race, bronze in the GC), and Heron Land-Gillis (silver in the Climb, bronze in the Time Trial, 4th in the Crit). Alumnus Carter DeVeer, currently riding for Cannibal B Victorious in Europe, landed on the podium 3 times in addition to a silver in the GC. All riders are continuing to improve and are working together for the team goal of placing IGNITE on the podium. Teamwork is paying off!
